Mr Ow Chio Kiat is currently the Executive Chairman of Stamford Land Corporation Ltd (formerly known as Hai Sun Hup Group Ltd), Singapore Shipping Corporation Limited and Cougar Logistics Corporation Ltd.

Mr Ow started his career in Hai Sun Hup and was instrumental in building the company into a global shipping and property group.  Hai Sun Hup was listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange in 1989 and subsequently renamed Stamford Land Corporation in 2001 to focus on its core hotel and property businesses.  Mr Ow established two other listed companies, Singapore Shipping Corporation in 2001 and Cougar Logistics Corporation in 2006.

Mr Ow is a member of the Singapore Australia Business Alliance Forum and was a Business Ambassador for the State of South Australia.  He is also Singapore’s representative to the ASEAN Free Trade Area - Closer Economic Relations Business Council, as well as the Singapore representative for Bremen Business International.  In 2008, Mr Ow was honoured by the Senate of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen for his 20 years of service.  In 2000, Mr Ow was bestowed the Order of Bernardo O’Higgins with the rank of “Gran Oficial” by the President of Chile.  He served as Council Adviser to the Singapore Institute of International Affairs and was a Council Member of the National Arts Council.

From 2001 to 2007, Mr Ow was the Honorary Consul-General of the Slovak Republic to Singapore.  Mr Ow was named Businessman of the Year for 2008 at the Singapore Business Awards.

He is now Singapore’s Non-Resident Ambassador to Argentina.
