Zong QingHou is founder and Chairman of Hangzhou Wahaha Group. Established in 1987, the group is China’s biggest beverage maker selling bottled water, tea drinks, juice and coffee, with 2010 revenues of US$8.5 billion.

Chairman Zong started the beverage business as a mini-grocery in a school in Hangzhou in 1986. Through product innovation and extraordinary marketing strategy, Chairman Zong successfully established his own brand, Wahaha. Over 24 years the company gained rapid development and became China’s largest beverage enterprise with over 30,000 employees, 150 subsidiaries in 29 provinces, producing and selling popular Wahaha-branded products, which all have passed the ISO9000 HACCP certification.

Chairman Zong and Wahaha are recipients of multiple awards including the "National May 1st Labor Certificate", "National Advanced Enterprise of Quality Management", "Chinese Enterprise Management Special Contribution Award" and "China's Most Respected Company". Wahaha is one of the top, most competitive, private Chinese enterprises recognized by the State Council.

Chairman Zong is also a civic-minded business leader who shoulders his share of social responsibility. Wahaha has made donations to areas such as education, social welfare and humanitarian efforts for the Wenchuan earthquake. It has answered to the nation’s call to invest in disadvantaged areas across China to help create jobs. Wahaha has also poured millions into the addressing problems concerning the agricultural industry. Wahaha was honored as the National Advanced Unit in supporting the migration work of the Three Gorges Project, Poverty-Alleviation Project, China Charity Prize, Zhejiang Charity Prize, and so on.

Chairman Zong is a Representative of the Tenth and the Eleventh National People's Congress; Vice President of the Zhejiang Federation of Industry and Commerce and Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce; Vice Chairman of China Beverage Industry Association; President of Zhejiang Beverage Industry Association; Vice Chairman of the Zhejiang Food Institute; Director of the China National Food Industry Association, China Federation of Industrial Economics and China Dairy Association. He is also an accredited MBA Instructor of the Zhejiang University.
